Helical Technology was proud to welcome renowned motorsport engine builder Geoff Page (of www.geoffpageracing.com) for an exciting technical discussion focused on building a brand-new engine based on the original TVR Cerbera Speed 12 — one of the most powerful and ambitious powertrains ever produced in the UK.

Both Helical and Geoff are custodians of original TVR Cerbera Speed 12 engines, which were hand-fabricated by combining two straight-six units to produce a monstrous 7.7L V12.
Designed to push the limits of performance with over 800 hp and an ambition to conquer Le Mans, the TVR Cerbera Speed 12 remains a bold, raw, and unapologetically extreme piece of British motorsport history.
Helical’s Cerbera Speed 12 engine is co-owned by Dom Trickett, founder of Powers Performance (www.powersperformance.co.uk), a company known for high-end performance engine builds and cutting-edge tuning expertise. Dom Trickett’s stewardship of the TVR engines and parts legacy, especially for TVR models driven by the Speed 6, makes him uniquely qualified to support projects that revisit or advance the Speed 12 concept. Dom’s deep technical background and commitment to pushing engineering limits make him an integral part of this exciting collaboration.

The meeting between Helical and Geoff explored the exciting prospect of engineering a Mark II version of the Cerbera Speed 12 engine – one that honours the original’s raw performance and distinctive character, while applying modern materials, advanced precision engineering and the expertise of former TVR staff including the unparalleled knowhow of original TVR engine builder John Ravenscroft.

Building a new version of such a distinctive powertrain is no small task — and it demands the highest level of technical insight and craftsmanship. The Cerbera Speed 12’s reputation for extreme performance and hand-built ingenuity makes this an exciting challenge.
Geoff Page who has deep roots in Group B rally, turbocharged Formula One, and bespoke race engine development, has invaluable experience which together with Helical’s passion for precision engineering and proven track record for producing innovative, top tier components, are ready to take on the challenge. This project would not only celebrate a legendary engine but push its philosophy into a new era.
During his visit, Geoff was given a full tour of Helical’s testing and development facilities, including our Superflow engine dynamometer, which will be instrumental in validating and refining the engine once built; capturing the engine’s performance with precision from first fire-up to final tuning.

This meeting marks the beginning of an exciting technical collaboration that blends motorsport heritage with cutting-edge engineering.
We will be sharing more as this project unfolds and our thanks goes to Geoff for his time, passion, and deep technical knowledge.
